The Frequency of Freedom: Finding Calm in Uncertain Times

Lately, I’ve noticed a common theme among those who walk through my door: the weight of uncertainty. The global energy feels heavy, emotions are heightened, and anger seems to be everywhere. Many of my clients share how difficult it is to cope with what they see on the news. Even though they know it may not be the healthiest choice, they continue to watch—because they want to stay informed, because they care, because turning away feels impossible.
This is real. It’s part of being human in these times. And it’s something we can approach differently—not by denying what’s happening, but by learning how to stay grounded and free within it.
The Density of Our Times
We are living in an intense and interesting chapter of human history. On the surface, it can feel chaotic and overwhelming. Collectively, we’re experiencing uncertainty, division, and a stirring of emotions that can feel like too much to carry.
Yet beneath that density, something greater is happening: transformation. Times of uncertainty often precede new beginnings. To walk through them, we need tools to regulate our emotions and return to center.
Sound as a Path to Steadiness
Sound and frequency are powerful allies. When the world feels loud, sound guides us back into the body and the heart.
Hum or tone softly when you feel tense. The vibration in your chest and throat helps calm the nervous system and release stuck energy.
Use a singing bowl or chime for 1–2 minutes. Let the sound draw your attention from outer noise into inner stillness.
Pair breath with sound. Inhale deeply; exhale with a soft sigh or hum. Imagine the sound carrying away frustration.
Anchor while watching the news. Place a hand on your heart and remind yourself: “I can witness this without absorbing it.”
Freedom and Fear Are Frequencies
Freedom doesn’t come from waiting for the world to calm down; it comes from cultivating inner steadiness even when storms surround us. Freedom is a frequency—a vibration we can choose, moment by moment.
But so is fear. When we unknowingly tune to fear, it ripples through our whole system: thoughts become foggy, the body tightens, sleep and digestion can be disrupted, immunity may dip, and emotions like anger or anxiety intensify. Fear disconnects us from our natural state of flow and balance.
The good news: we’re not stuck there. By choosing practices that raise our vibration—sound, breath, and mindful awareness—we can shift from fear into freedom, peace, and love. When we align with the frequency of freedom, we stop being at the mercy of outside noise and become the tuning fork that steadies ourselves and others.
Heart–Brain Coherence (2-Minute Practice)
Inspired by HeartMath® teachings on heart-focused breathing and positive emotion.
Use this anytime—before sessions, after the news, or whenever emotions feel heavy.
Heart Focus (10–15 seconds). Gently place a hand over your heart. Bring your attention to the area in the center of your chest.
Heart Breathing (60–90 seconds). Breathe a little slower and deeper than usual—about 5 seconds in, 5 seconds out—as if you’re breathing through your heart. Keep it comfortable and unforced.
Heart Feeling (60–90 seconds). Recall a regenerative emotion—appreciation, care, compassion, gratitude, or ease. Re-experience it as if it’s happening now. If it helps, think of a person, pet, place, or moment that naturally evokes warmth.
Anchor (5–10 seconds). Silently affirm: “From my heart, I choose calm and clarity.” Notice any softening in your body or breath.
When to use:
Before opening social media or turning on the news.
Between clients or tasks.
At bedtime to settle the nervous system.
In the moment, when anger or fear spikes.
Tips: If you feel lightheaded, return to your normal breath. Even 90 seconds can shift your state.
A Blessing for These Times
As you move through this dense and uncertain chapter, may you remember: you are not powerless. You can choose your frequency in each moment.
💜 Even as the world swirls in uncertainty, I stand in my center. I align with the frequency of freedom, peace, and love. I release what is not mine to carry, and I trust that light finds its way through every storm.
May this be your compass in the days ahead.
