David likes to teach The Art of Jin Shin Selfcare in an experiential way. His belief is that since

the class is only an hour, it is more important to assist the students to experience the subtle yet

powerful healing of Jin Shin rather than to gain head knowledge. There will be handouts given

at the end of the workshop for review of the topics covered during the workshop.

What is the Art of Jin Shin?

This subtle form of body work and self-care practice is also known as the ancient Eastern technique of Jin Shin Jyutsu. 

It derives from Japan and is sometimes referred to as the 'grandmother of acupuncture'. It is informed by pulse listening and based on twenty-six

acupressure sites on each side of the body. These are held in different combinations or 'flows' to restore the circulation of energy along the extraordinary meridian lines of our body.

What do I need to bring?

Simply bring your smile and some water.

We have mats, flow chairs and a few folding chairs for those that would be more comfortable in a traditional chair.

If you have your favorite mat, cushion or other, feel free to bring it.

What should I wear?

We recommend wearing comfortable clothing.

What time should I arrive?

The doors will open 15 minutes before the scheduled time, so feel free to arrive a few minutes beforehand.

Should I take notes?

We will be using our hands throughout the hour; however, there will be handouts given at the end of the workshop for review of the topics covered during the workshop.

What can I expect?

In this workshop, you will be using your hands as gentle healing tools. Appling your hands to various energy centers which will remove the energetic blocks that are causing physical, emotional pain and disease. These self-care techniques can help you live healthier and happier lives. 

Like acupressure, the Art of Jin Shin can be administered by a trained practitioner, or it can be self-applied.

Come join us for a group, self-care session to take time out to rest and reset together through the gentle Art of Jin Shin.

It's a chance to slow down, come home to our senses and balance our energy. This meditative practice session is open to all - whether you're well-practiced in the Art of Jin Shin or completely new to this subtle form of energy medicine.

We will be dipping into a relaxing space together, holding different Jin Shin acupressure sites in turn. Each step will be guided, so there's no need for any previous knowledge or experience.

Making time for self-care is so key to a sustainable and healthy life, which is why we warmly welcome you to join us.

What is the cost?

This workshop has a sliding scale of $11 to $22 at the door.
